How do you keep a bag tidy for a long time?

In our handbags we carry our lives - and more. We are equipped for every emergency: extra socks, hand cream, pens, notepad, cards, receipts, passport, chewing gum. In the long run, the chaos becomes more and more restless and we hardly find what we actually need. So it's high time to clean up our bags. With these tips you can organize and clean your handbag so that it stays beautiful for a long time.
What should I put in my handbag?
Only you can answer this question. But what we do know: You should always take out what you don't really need. To make your decision easier and so that you can see exactly what's in your handbag, empty it first. Preferably on the table for you.
Then it's time to find out: Anything that has no practical use or sentimental value should not be put back in the handbag.
Clean bag inside and out
Handbags spend a lot of time on the floor and outdoors. Here they collect bacteria and dirt. That's why you have to wipe them on the outside every now and then. But you will probably also find all kinds of dirt in your bag.
So, to give your handbag a good clean before you put it away, first pull the lining out completely (if you can) and shake it out over a bin. If you do this regularly, you will keep the bag tidy for a long time.
Remove stains in a bag
Mix a little washing-up liquid with lukewarm water and dip a sponge in it. Wring it out well and wipe the liner with it. Then take the outside of your handbag and wipe that with the sponge as well.
Finally, all you have to do is dry the handbag. Just hang it next to your heating, for example. If you need to dry it quickly, you can also use a hair dryer, but we don't recommend that!
Note: If your handbag is made of leather, it should not get wet. Leather does not tolerate heat to dry. So just wipe the leather handbag with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry at room temperature. A leather bag generally stays neat for a long time.
Choosing the right handbag
If you make a choice which handbag you are going to wear, it is important to choose the right size. If the bag is too big, you'll be tempted to cram more into it. And nothing is more annoying than a bag that is constantly overflowing.
It is practical if your bag has several compartments. So you can easily pack small items. A good example is this phone bag . You can also buy handbags with removable pockets inside. However, you should avoid handbags with too many compartments - otherwise you will have to keep searching for your things.
Inner pockets: how to use them properly
The right amount of inner bags is important. Very few handbags offer the ideal storage space for everyone's needs. But you can easily remedy this: In addition to the existing inner pockets, small pockets and cases help to store your belongings.
The best way to organize your things is to first divide them into categories. For example:
Cosmetics: hand cream, lipstick, face mask.
Paperwork: notes, books, passport
Everyday: earphones, mobile phone, tablet
Food: chewing gum, bars
Medications : aspirin, patches, tampons.
Now pack them all in suitably sized inner bags or small extra bags, for example this Fluffy Bag has an extra bag. This also has the advantage that you can leave one of the 'extra' bags at home if you don't need it that day.
Keep your handbag tidy
Our recommendation: It is best to sort your handbag every week so that the chaos can no longer spread there. For example, we always do that on Sunday evening when we watch a nice Netflix series. You clean your bag once a month.
